Rushville is in the northwest corner of the state.

Cougars are protected in Nebraska. Kudos to the hunters for not shooting the cougars they encountered!
Notice that the reporters lead off with close encounters with mountain lions (no attacks) and oh by the way, at the end, a boy gets shot..twice! by his companion!
53,641 deer would support over 2,000 mountain lions for a year. Interesting [...]
